Life is Precious

In ordinary parlance, when a thing is worth a lot of money, loved and valued too much that it cannot be wasted, such a thing is usually said to be precious. Gold is usually referred to as precious metal while diamond is precious stone.

The preciousness of a thing to a person, therefore, depends largely on the worth placed on it. What is the most precious thing in your life: Riches, Power, Fame, Academic attainment, etc.?

In Matthew 16:26, our Lord Jesus Christ asked two pertinent questions, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his own soul?”

The soul is immortal and the loss of it in eternity cannot be compensated by the gain of the whole world. One’s soul is lost when one dies without Christ and thus is eternally separated from God’s favour. One’s soul is worth more than all the world; our soul should be of greater value to us now than all the wealth, honour, pleasure and pursuit of this present time. The loss of one soul in HELL is so great a loss that the gain of the whole world will not make it up. He that loses his soul, though it be to gain the whole world, makes a very bad bargain for himself; when he comes to balance the account before God and compare profit and loss, he will find out that he is irretrievably ruined forever.

The things that are categorized as precious in this present life (e.g Gold, Silver, Diamond, Houses, Cars, Fame, Honour, Power, e.t.c) are counterfeit pearls; they are not truly precious. In Matthew 13:45-46 The Bible says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it”. JESUS CHRIST is that pearl of great price and in having HIM we have eternal life. Have you found this pearl of great price? Are you ready to let go all the counterfeit pearls in other to embrace the genuine and ONLY pearl of great price? Your life can only be precious if you know JESUS CHRIST as Lord and Saviour; no wonder in Psalms 116:15, the Bible declares, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”

Do you want to become precious in the sight of the Lord? If the answer is in the affirmative, then you must acknowledge that you are a sinner who cannot save himself from the eternal consequence of sin which is eternal death, Ezekiel. 18:4. You must also repent of those sins and confess them to our Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who became a human being and died on the cross of Calvary and resurrected also to take away our sins and their attendant consequences. After the confession of your sins, you must forsake them and put your faith in the LORD JESUS CHRIST who has ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God and will soon come back to rapture the saints who are so precious to him.

“For whoso findeth me (JESUS CHRIST) findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” See Proverbs 8:35-36.

If you have put your faith in OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST after reading this tract, we do urge you to write and inform us so that we will rejoice with you and continue to pray for you.
