The scripture makes it clear in Hebrews 9:27 that it is appointed unto men to die and after that the judgment. The appointment of God concerning men contains two things: (1) They must die (2) They must be judged.
The death of a believer in Christ is precious in the sight of the Lord – Psalms116:15, but the Lord does not have any pleasure in the death of the wicked – Ezekiel 33:11. The wicked include all who rejected Jesus as their Lord and Saviour in their life time. All who died in their unbelieving state shall be resurrected in order to stand judgment before God at the great white throne, see Revelation 20:11-15, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works… And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
Don’t you know that your entire life is being recorded? Are you not aware of the fact that all the secret and obvious sins you commit are being recorded in the books and shall be made public on the day of judgment? After the unsaved men and women are judged from the books of their works, another book is opened, THE BOOK OF LIFE. The scripture makes it clear that any one not found written in the BOOK OF LIFE will be cast into the lake of fire. Will you like to end in the lake of fire where the scripture in Isaiah 66:24 makes it clear that their fire does not quench and their worms die not?
The scripture tells us of this terrible judgment to give those who have not received Christ every opportunity to escape. Hebrew 2:3 says: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him…?”
Remember, no believer in Christ will stand before God at the great white throne. That terrible judgment is reserved for those who have rejected Christ as Saviour and Lord and as a result condemned themselves. In John 3:17-18, the scripture makes it clear that God sent not His son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believes on Him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
The only way you can escape the great white throne judgment is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. In Acts 16:31-34, a jailer escaped through that way and was saved together with his household. Put your faith in the Lord Jesus now and ask Him to forgive your sins; then you will be ready to keep this inescapable appointment.
If you decided for Christ after reading this tract, you can write to us so that we can rejoice with you and pray for you.
