“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” See Genesis 1:27 (KJV).
“And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good…” Genesis 1:31 (KJV)
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” See Psalm 139:13, 14 (NIV)
“The Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.” Psalm 145:17 (NIV) God declared all He had created very good. You are part of God’s creation and God is very pleased with how He created you. God doesn’t make mistakes; He is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all He has made. The assessment and valuation of God over all He has created is that they are very good. God created man and woman in His own image with the view that we should live out the character of God in our day to day living.
God Himself declared in the Holy Scriptures that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. The Lord Himself knitted you together in your mother’s womb and created your inmost being. It is because you do not really believe that you are fearfully and wonderfully made that you have decided to change the texture of your hair to look like that of a white man or woman through the mechanical/chemical process of jerry curls and perming. For the same reason of unbelief, you have changed the colour of your skin through the chemical process of bleaching cream to now look like the skin of a white man or woman. You are so discontented with the natural colour of your lips and nails that you always paint them red, blue, purple or any colour of your choice. Are you a chameleon? You are so much dissatisfied with the way God created your nails that you have now decided to glue artificial nails to the original ones. As if the discontentment you have shown to God is not enough, you took a step further to bore several holes in your ears and even nose to enable you wear many earrings and nose jewelry at the same time. When God was forming you in your mother’s womb as a male or female, He did not bore any hole in your ears because it is not necessary. It will surprise you to note that the only place where God commands ear boring in the Scriptures has to do with slavery. See Exodus 21:1-6 and Deuteronomy 15:12-17. Are you a Hebrew slave? Although you are not a Hebrew slave, you are a slave to sin. “Jesus answered them, verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.” John 8:34
The fact that you are wearing any form of make-ups as male or female shows that you are discontented with how God made you; and because they are make-ups, you are unequivocally saying that what God created is inadequate, hence your efforts to make it up. This is a terrible sin in the sight of God. God said that all He has created are very good, but you make God a liar through your make-up lifestyles. And yet God cannot lie.
You can live without these make-ups because you were not created with them in the first place. But if you feel that you cannot live without them, even for the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ, then they have become idols in your life. An idol is anything that robs Christ of His full deity in our lives. It is also any loyalty that replaces God at the centre of our lives. An idolater does not have any inheritance in the Kingdom of our God, see Ephesians 5:5. More so if you cannot live without make-ups which are not necessary food, then you are in bondage and only the truth of the word of God can set you free if you believe same.
Friend, it is your secret desire to give your life to Christ, but you cannot do so because you don’t want to stop your make-up lifestyle. People usually believe wrong things because they have become convinced that those things are good, at least for themselves. Why not believe the verdict of God and agree that the way God created you is very good? Once this is settled in your heart, giving your life to Jesus Christ will no longer be a struggle.
You may, however, disbelieve God’s verdict and valuation of the word of God concerning you; which option is very dangerous and destructive eternally. Concerning this option, the fact remains that behind wearing of jewelries and make-ups, there is a satanic power at work for its own ends. Do not let this power grip you. The dangerous thing about the sin of making up is that parents consciously introduce their children to the said act at a very tender age.
If make-ups of any kind are not of God, then they must be of this world which is under the control of the evil one. See 1 John 5:19 (NIV). Anyone who is not in Christ is a slave to sin and does not have the freedom to obey God. Except you come to Christ in faith, you have no option than to obey Satan. There’s no middle ground; people either belong to God and obey Him or they live under Satan’s control.
Friend, do you have the key of heaven in your pocket? “…for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:19. If the body you have been making up returns to dust and you suddenly discover that the gate of Heaven is locked against you because of your make-up lifestyles, what will you do and how can you make amends? It will be eternally too late. In eternal matters, we are enjoined in Ephesians 5:15 to walk circumspectly not as fools but as wise. If you put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and forsake your make-up lifestyles, we are very sure that God will not shut the gate of Heaven against you for keeping yourself the way he created you.
If you want to start walking circumspectly as wise and not as fools, we implore you to first of all admit that you are a slave to sin and cannot save yourself from its bondage. You must repent of your sins and confess them to our Lord Jesus Christ. You must also forsake your sins and put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior.
If you decided for Christ after reading this tract, you can write to us so that we can rejoice with you and pray for you.
