“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13,14
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1:1-6
The above scriptures are accounts of the way of sin and the way of holiness. These are two parallel ways with no meeting point. You are either on one or on the other; there is no sitting on the fence. The way of destruction is a broad way that accommodates all manner of sinful lifestyles. Multitudes are attracted to this way because in it they have abundant liberty to sin without restrictions. This is where you find all free thinkers, occultists and practitioners of false religions. The sexually pervert, the covetous, the self-righteous and the corrupt, all are on this road. You can go in through this wide gate with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of this life. The wide gate and the broad way do not have any check on your appetite. Also, on this way you will have many companions. Nevertheless, this road leads to DESTRUCTION “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12; “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” Psalm 9:17.
Please note that the ‘wicked’ in the above scripture includes all males and females, young and old, educated and illiterate, rich and poor, who in their lifetime consciously elected to reject JESUS CHRIST as Lord and Saviour of their lives. The verdict of the word of God is that they shall be turned into hell. Have you heard of the “WELL TO HELL” story? A group of Russian geologists in the early 1990s in Siberia while drilling a hole broke through a cavity after reaching a depth of 9 miles (14.4km). In curiousity, they inserted an extremely heat-tolerant microphone into the well together with other sensory gadgets. The equipment recorded a temperature of about 1,0900c (2,0000F). The microphone picked the agonizing screams of the tormented and this was heard by the scientists. The Project Manager, Dr. Azzacov, gave this account, “As a communist, I don’t believe in heaven or the Bible, but as a scientist I now believe in hell. Needless to say we were shocked to make such a discovery. But we know what we saw and we know what we heard. And we were absolutely convinced that we drilled through the gates of hell…”
Whether the “Well to Hell” story is true or false, hell is not a myth; it is real!
The strait gate and narrow way lead to eternal life in heaven and only few people find this way. Genuine repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with regeneration usher one into this way. You must experience the new birth, receive a new heart and a new spirit, and put away your old way of life to walk in the narrow way. Though the gate is strait and the way narrow, it can accommodate everyone born into this earth that chooses to enter; see John 3:16. Strangely though, only few find it and choose it. The strait gate does not usher one straight into heaven but rather into the ‘narrow way’ experience. This wilderness experience removes the encumbrances of the flesh from the pilgrim. The word of God and the Holy Spirit provide guidance on the narrow way. The flesh is denied, temptations resisted and the cross borne on this way. There is no room for worldliness here. The pilgrim must endure hardship and overcome much tribulation. The Lord has promised never to leave nor forsake any on this road. No matter what one passes through on the narrow way, one minute in HEAVEN will compensate for all. An eternity of bliss awaits the overcomer.
Do not shun the narrow way, but rather embrace it by acknowledging the truth that you are a sinner who cannot save himself or herself. Repent and confess your sins to our LORD JESUS CHRIST who died on the cross of Calvary and rose again to take away our sins. After confessing your sins, you must forsake them and put your faith in our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
If you have put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ after reading this tract, we implore you to write and inform us so we can rejoice with you and pray for you.
